DAY 1: Poland: Arrive Warsaw

Arrive at Warsaw Airport, where you meet your Tour Manager and proceed to your hotel for check-in (after 14:00 p.m.) for a two-nights stay. The afternoon is at leisure to explore Warsaw, the capital of Poland, which lost some 90 percent of its buildings in WWII. Take a walk through the 'Old Town' which is just four decades in age, but looks every bit as impressive as it did four centuries ago.

DAY 2: Poland: Warsaw

After breakfast today you embark on a half day tour of Warsaw. During this tour you see the famous Royal Way, with its embassy district. The Royal Way leads then to the Old Town of Warsaw via Nowy Świat Street – famous for its shops and restaurants. In the Old Town you see the Royal Castle and then passing by the St. John’s Cathedral (the oldest church in Warsaw), you reach the Old Town Market and Barbican. Beside the historical part you can see the area of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Grand Theatre and The Palace of Science and Culture. The afternoon is at leisure for shopping at Arkadia and Gold Terraces, the biggest shopping malls in Poland.

DAY 3: Poland: Warsaw - Kraków

This morning you depart for Krakow, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Central Europe and the European City of Culture 2000. The Old Town Complex together with the Wawel Hill was entered on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, and the city has a unique charm created by centuries of history and cultural wealth. On arrival, proceed to your hotel and check-in (after 14:00 p.m.) for a two-nights stay. In the afternoon you proceed on a
tour of Kraków: walk in The Old Market Square - Europe's largest medieval square with the Renaissance Cloth Hall “Sukiennice" and St Mary's Basilica with its unique altar carved in wood in 15th century; then along the Royal Route - Grodzka Street. You also see the Barbican and Florian Gate, and Wawel Hill Royal Castle. One of Wawel’s most well-known, but officially unendorsed legends is that of the fabled chakra stone, which refers to a tale of the Hindu god Shiva who cast seven magical stones, the Chakra, into seven parts of the world. One of them hit Kraków and is hidden in Wawel Castle.

DAY 4: Poland: Kraków - Wieliczka - Auschwitz - Kraków

Today after breakfast, you visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, entered in the UNESCO World Heritage Register in 1978. The Wieliczka Salt Mine (13th century) is one of the world’s oldest mining sites still in uninterrupted operation. For over 700 years the mine was a source of Polish fortune and is one of the most valuable monuments of material and spiritual culture in Poland. Today Wieliczka is visited by more than one million tourists from all over the world to see the magnificent chapels, charming underground lakes, original tools and equipment. Visitors will take a 2.5 km walk through 3 levels in the mine down to 136 m below ground, through a labyrinth of galleries and caverns with unique sculptures all carved in rock salt. The temperature inside is +15'C (55 F). In the afternoon, you visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration and Extermination Camp Museum, a symbol of terror, genocide and the Holocaust established by the Nazis in 1940. Later return to Kraków.

DAY 5: Poland: Kraków - Zakopane

This morning after breakfast, you check-out of the hotel. The morning is at leisure for shopping. In the afternoon you depart for Zakopane, the most important Polish centre for mountaineering and skiing, which is visited annually by some three million tourists. On arrival, proceed to your hotel and check-in for a two-nights stay.

DAY 6: Poland: Zakopane

Today you begin the day with a tour of Zakopane, which lies in a large valley between the Tatra Mountains and Gubałówka Hill. Zakopane has the highest elevation (800-1,000 m) of any town in Poland. The central point of the town is at the junction of Krupówki and Kościuszko Streets. The traditional culture and art of the highlanders includes their architecture, clothing, food and music, all fascinating and still alive. Zakopane is rather like a large village, with wooden folk cottages adjacent to art nouveau houses that remain from the town’s popularity at the end of the 19th century. It was home to many famous artists at that time, and many of these have left their mark on the atmosphere and architecture. The afternoon is at leisure for shopping.

DAY 7: Poland: Zakopane - Czech Republic: Prague

This morning you depart for Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. On arrival, check-in at your hotel for a two-nights stay.

DAY 8: Czech Republic: Prague

After breakfast today you proceed on a half day tour of Prague. In 1992 the historical centre of Prague, covering the area of 866 hectares, was listed in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Register. During your tour you will visit the Old Town Square, the most important historical square in Prague, to see the Astronomical Clock at the Old Town Hall. You will also walk on Charles Bridge, a gothic bridge lined with Baroque statues, a unique open-air art gallery and national monument. You will also see the Hradcany Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, Royal Hall and Golden Lane. The afternoon is at leisure for shopping, or why not join the additional excursion - Visit to Karlštejn Castle, a large Gothic castle founded 1348 AD by Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor-elect and King of Bohemia. The castle served as a place for safekeeping the Imperial Regalia as well as the Bohemian coronation jewels, holy relics and other royal treasures. Located about 30 km southwest of Prague, above the village named Karlštejn, it is one of the most famous and most frequently visited castles in the Czech Republic.

DAY 9: Czech Republic: Prague - Slovakia: Bratislava - Hungary: Budapest

This morning you depart for Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia and the ancient coronation town of the historic Hungarian Kingdom where between 1563 and 1830 eleven kings and eight royal wives were crowned. You will drive to the city center of Bratislava, and then walk to Michalska Gate, Main Square, Old Town Hall, Primate's Palace, Reduta and the Cathedral of St. Martin. Then continue by coach and drive past the Presidential Palace and Bratislava Castle. The tour ends with a visit to the Slavin Monument. Later continue the drive to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, formed by merging the residential Buda and historic Obuda on the west bank of the Danube with the industrial Pest on the east. On arrival check-in at your hotel for a two-nights stay. This evening why not join the additional excursion - Evening cruise on the River Danube.

DAY 10: Hungary: Budapest

This morning on your tour of Budapest, the world’s most beautiful capital and referred to as the “Pearl of the Danube”, you will climb the Castle Hill from which there is a great view of the Parliament building and the Chain Bridge. See the buildings of Castle Hill: the neo-Gothic Matthias Church surrounded by quaintly restored medieval homes on cobblestone streets and the imposing Royal Palace, which houses the National Gallery and its precious works of art. A light stroll through the sights of Buda is perfectly complemented by darting through the bustle of Pest. The glittering Váci utca (street) offers up some of the best shops in the city. Office buildings, shopping malls and supermarkets are set in perfect harmony with the elegant St. Stephen’s Basilica, as well as the sprawling Heroes’ Square, bordered by, the neo-classical Museum of Fine Arts. The afternoon is at leisure for shopping.

DAY 11: Hungary: Budapest - Return flight home

This morning, you are transferred to the airport for your flight back home. The tour ends, and it is time to say farewell to all the friends you have made on tour. (Breakfast)
